Insomnia - a new unwanted acquaintance came to visit again. "I thought I had banished you!" "Why have you returned?"
The insomnia conjures up words in my head that form abstract sentences tumbling onto the page like a sorcerer's spell. There is a foggy cloud that has enveloped my brain in a light veil, and beneath that veil I can feel the thoughts in my head tumbling around, dancing, fizzing! Causing an effervescence through my veins. It is uncontrollable - the pulsating feeling, the thrumming telling me I'm alive. I can feel this "liquid gold" going into every molecule of my body. My veins are carrying this precious medication and marching it through me at a tremendous pace, looking for the invaders, looking for the insurgent army that has dared to rebel against me. I am the dictator here. I am the commander in chief and I am ordering you to leave.
It feels like millions and millions of popcorn kernels have started to pop inside me causing my blood to Effervesce - Pulsate - Tingle. I feel it right from my fingers, right to my toes. Pulsating - Tingling - Thrumming. Not only do I feel it but I hear it too. Like the sand swishing through an hour glass, I hear it tunneling through me. Swish - Hum - Whoosh.
My veins that are usually hidden well below the skin are now plump and juicy with the liquid gold and I can see the veins raised on my hands.
The chemo is working.
Let me tell you more about today .....
to be continued!
